I have received quite a few emails since I published that asking me how I did the effect, so in this tutorial I will show you how to create a vintage look badge using Illustrator and Photoshop

If you're good to manage Photoshop photo manipulation techniques, you can turn the smoke to unimaginable objects. For example, create smoke rose, smoke wolves and many others.

You can also use hazy artworks in the advertisement creation, to impart mystical mood, and of course they can be very effectively used in anti smoking ads.

Functionality of Adobe Fireworks in your Design Workflow

Many web designers work exclusively with the Adobe Creative Suite to get work done.

Adobe Photoshop is the most common tool for graphics creation and manipulation along with Illustrator for freehand drawings.

Fireworks doesn’t get as much of the attention, but this doesn’t mean the software is also useless.

In fact Fireworks can be used hand-in-hand with Photoshop to create seamless mockup designs, wireframes, interface icons and so much more.

We’ll be taking a look into how you can incorporate Adobe Fireworks seamlessly into your design workflow.

Make an emotional scene in Photoshop

In this manipulation tutorial I will show you how to make an emotional scene in Photoshoph.

Making this kind of artworks is not very difficult in my opinion, you just need to be creative.

Maybe the hardest part when you make this kind of manipulations is choosing the right stock images.

40 Miniature-Like Tilt Shift Photography

The use of tilt shift for selective focus has been popularized by some photographers as it is seen in some commercials on tv and on different websites. The tilt shift effect makes a life-sized location or scene looks like a miniature scale model.

This kind of effect can be achieved by the use of special tilt-lenses, other shooting techniques or can be done with the help of Photoshop.

The miniature-like photographs are taken from a high angle to give an illusion of looking down at a small model.

Be inspired by these 40 sampled photos of Miniature-Like Tilt Shift Photography. Check them below and try to create and your first ever tilt-shift if you haven’t made one.

Enjoy!!!

VectorVault

How did this all come about?

Vectorvault was born out of spite. But it grew out of the love I have for art.

It all started back in 2006 when I left a 5 and a half year career as an Associate Creative Director with a dynamite advertising agency in Toronto. I helped to shape brands like Miller Genuine Draft, Molson and Rogers, and was involved in a mountain of promotional work from tent cards to International television spots.

Things turned a corner for me when the new CEO bullied his way into my world and tried to fix something that was not really broken to begin with. I watched him slowly destroy the atmosphere that I had come to love. I tolerated his rude behaviour and for some unknown reason continually tried to prove to him that I was a creative person who deserved his respect.

50 Clever and Cool Logos

Wow, another logo inspiration post. Enough already, right? I know, I know.

Here’s the deal: when Freelance Review first launched we had some really cool logo inspiration posts, none of which made the transfer to the new platform from the old platform. Sooo, I wanted to make sure we had at least one good logo inspiration post on the site.

I know these logo inspiration posts are way over done, but that’s my disclaimer. I don’t plan on doing any more of these in the future (but I’d like to keep my options open…).

Anyways, enjoy these clever and cool logos as this may be the last logo inspiration post we do.

Ever.

Tiled Background Designer

Tiled Background Designer is an online software you can use for free to create awesome backgrounds for your website or anything else you would like.

There are different shapes in various themes you can use. You can change the images size, color, rotation and other things. You can even change the canvas color.

Whatever changes you make, appear immediately on the site’s background so you see, in a second, what your options look like an change them or not.

Once you are done, you can download the basic tile to apply anywhere you want. Isn’t that great?

I like very much to play with it and see what I come up with.

I bet you will get addicted to it too!
